AK Steel is a leading producer of flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, and carbon and stainless tubular products, primarily for the automotive, infrastructure and manufacturing, electrical power generation and distribution markets. Through its subsidiaries, the company also provides customer solutions with carbon and stainless steel tubing products, die design and tooling, and hot and cold stamped components.

Headquartered in West Chester, Ohio in Greater Cincinnati, the company has approximately 9,200 employees at manufacturing operations across seven states (Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia), as well as Canada and Mexico.

Roger K. Newport is AK Steel's Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. He was named CEO January 1, 2016.

Our Locations

At AK Steel, we are driven to create innovative steel solutions through our products, processes and services to meet or exceed our customers' expectations. AK Steel employs about 9,200 men and women in Middletown, Mansfield, Coshocton and Zanesville, Ohio; Butler, Pennsylvania; Ashland, Kentucky; Rockport, Indiana; Dearborn, Michigan and its corporate headquarters in West Chester, Ohio and subsidiary locations. AK Steel also has international sales offices throughout Europe.

AK Tube LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AK Steel has plants in Walbridge, Ohio and Columbus, Indiana and Queretaro, Mexico. AK Tube produces carbon and stainless electric resistance welded (ERW) tubular steel products for truck, automotive and other markets.

AK Coal Resources, Inc., another wholly-owned subsidiary of AK Steel, controls and is developing metallurgical coal reserves in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.

Recently acquired, Precision Partners provides engineering, tooling and hot and cold stamped products across eight plants in Ontario, Alabama and Kentucky.
