AK Steel To Increase Prices For Stainless Steel Products

Middletown, OH, April 05, 2006—AK Steel (NYSE: AKS) said today that it will increase transaction prices for all hot-rolled and cold-rolled stainless steel sheet, strip and continuous mill plate products, effective with shipments on April 30, 2006. 

Prices for hot-rolled and cold-rolled stainless steel sheet and strip will increase by approximately 6%, accomplished through a two percentage point reduction in the functional discount rate.   Prices for stainless steel continuous mill plate products will increase by approximately 9%, accomplished through a three percentage point reduction in the functional discount rate.
